AUSPEV WA SERIES 2

The WA State Series is a multi-round electric racing championship running from February to May, forming the backbone of the AUSPEV competition calendar in Western Australia. The series is designed to be accessible, structured, and progression-based, allowing riders to enter individual events or compete across the full season.

The championship comes down to this. Round 4 marks the final showdown of the AUS PEV State Series, set at the fast and technical Wanneroo International Kartway. With series standings on the line, every lap will count as riders push for final positions and podium finishes.

Track access opens bright and early from 6:00am for riders wanting extra time to dial in their setup and get comfortable on the circuit. Official qualifying kicks off at 7:45am, setting the grid for the day ahead.

Racing will consist of three heats of 3-lap sprints, keeping the action tight, fast, and competitive from start to finish. Expect close battles, strategic positioning, and no room for error as the series reaches its conclusion.

We’re aiming to have racing wrapped up by 11:30am–12:00pm, making it a sharp, high-intensity final round to close out the season.

AUSPEV WA Series – Race Format & Competition Rules

Introduction

The AUSPEV WA Series is a Western Australia–based championship contested over four rounds. Each round features qualifying and three championship heats, with riders accumulating points across all rounds to determine overall series standings.

This format prioritises fair competition, consistency, and transparency, and is aligned with the principles and applicable rules used at the 2025 ESRA Nationals.

1. Championship Structure

Each round of the AUSPEV WA Series consists of:

  • One Qualifying Session

  • Three Championship Heats (points-scoring)

  • An optional non-championship reverse-grid race (time permitting)

Only the three championship heats contribute points toward the series.

2. Qualifying

  • All riders must participate in the official qualifying session.

  • Qualifying order is determined by fastest valid lap time.

  • Qualifying order sets the grid for Heat 1.

  • Riders without a valid qualifying time will start at the rear of the grid for Heat 1.

3. Championship Heat Format

Each round includes three points-scoring heats using an evolving grid format.

Heat 1

  • Grid: Qualifying order

  • Purpose: Establish on-day pace and initial race order

Heat 2

  • Grid: Finishing order from Heat 1

  • Purpose: Reward performance and consistenc

Heat 3

  • Grid: Finishing order from Heat 2

  • Purpose: Final championship heat and round decider

Grid positions for each heat are earned on track.

4. Points System

Points are awarded in each championship heat as follows:

1st 15

2nd 12

3rd 9

4th 6

5th 3

6th and beyond 0

  • All three heats count toward the round total.

  • Round totals accumulate across all four rounds toward the AUSPEV WA Series standings.

5. Tie-Breakers

In the event of a tie on points (for a round or series), the following tie-breakers apply, in order:

  1. Best finishing position in Heat 3

  2. Best finishing position in Heat 2

  3. Best qualifying position

6. DNS, DNF & Penalties

DNS (Did Not Start)

  • Rider receives zero points for that heat.

  • Rider starts at the rear of the grid for the next heat.

DNF (Did Not Finish)

  • Rider is classified at the discretion of Race Control.

  • Points are awarded based on classification.

Penalties

  • Penalties may include time penalties, position adjustments, or disqualification.

  • Penalties apply to the heat in which the infringement occurred.

  • Race Control decisions are final.

7. Rider Safety & Equipment

Mandatory Requirements

  • Approved protective helmet

  • Closed-toe footwear

Strongly Recommended

  • Gloves

  • Knee protection

  • Elbow protection

Equipment

  • All boards and equipment must be in safe, race-ready condition.

  • Officials may exclude any equipment deemed unsafe.

8. On-Track Conduct

  • Rider-to-rider contact is strictly prohibited.

  • Riders must remain within marked track limits.

  • Leaving the track to gain an advantage may result in penalties or disqualification.

  • Unsafe or unsportsmanlike riding will not be tolerated.

9. Optional Non-Championship Reverse-Grid Race

If time and conditions permit, an additional non-championship reverse-grid race may be run after the championship heats.

  • Grid: Reverse of qualifying order or reverse of Heat 3 results (announced at rider briefing)

  • Points: None

  • This race does not affect championship or series standings.

  • Intended purely for additional track time and entertainment.

10. Rider Briefing

A mandatory rider briefing is held before competition begins.

  • Event-specific instructions will be communicated

  • Any format clarifications will be confirmed

  • Attendance is compulsory for all riders

11. Event Administration

  • Schedules may be adjusted due to weather, incidents, or safety concerns.

  • Every effort will be made to complete all three championship heats.

  • The Race Director may make operational decisions to preserve safety and competition integrity.

12. Code of Conduct

  • Alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited during official sessions.

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in penalties or exclusion from the event or series.

13. Acceptance

By entering the AUSPEV WA Series, all riders acknowledge and accept these rules and agree to abide by all Race Control decisions.
